Scholarships and Bursaries
Our scholarship fund provides scholarships and bursaries for local female students attending Nipissing University, Canadore College, and local secondary schools. Below you will find details about these scholarships and bursaries funded each year4 by the members of the club. We also have several additional special scholarships, including the Dr. Diana Walton Scholarship, the Terry Blair memorial scholarship, and in 2025 a one-time Indigenous Education Award.
Below is a list of the scholarships and bursaries we give each year in addition to the Dr. Diana Walton Scholarship. You will find the names of the winners reported each year by our scholarship chairs in their annual reports (available through links from the Information for Membership tab at the top of the page).

Nipissing University Awards
Each Year CFUW North Bay awards the following scholarships and bursaries each valued at $500:
CFUWNB Faculty of Education and Professional Studies Scholarship:
Is awarded to a North Bay and Area female student who demonstrates academic proficiency who is continuing full time studies in a program, other than in the Schulich School of Education, within the Faculty of Education and Professional Studies at Nipissing. The recipient exhibits excellent leadership skills, with preference going to a student who also demonstrates a strong work ethic, compassion and perseverance.
CFUWNB Faculty of Arts and Science Scholarship is awarded to a North Bay and Area female student who demonstrates academic proficiency who is continuing full time studies in a program within the Faculty of Arts and Science at Nipissing. The recipient exhibits excellent leadership skills, with preference going to a student who also demonstrates a strong work ethic, compassion and perseverance.
CFUWNB Faculty of Education and Professional Studies – School of Education Scholarship Is awarded to a North Bay and Area female student who demonstrates academic proficiency who is continuing full time studies in a program within the Schulich School of Education at Nipissing. The recipient exhibits excellent leadership skills, with preference going to a student who also demonstrates a strong work ethic and excellent teaching practices with children.
Canadore College Awards
CFUWNB Canadore College Non-Traditional Program Bursary is awarded to a North Bay and Area female student in a non-traditional area of study who demonstrates academic proficiency and financial need and who is continuing studies at Canadore. This recipient demonstrates a strong work ethic and high level interpersonal skills.

Secondary School Rotation of CFUW North Bay Scholarships
CFUWNB Secondary School Scholarship is awarded to a deserving female student who demonstrates academic proficiency and who is a graduate of one of the North Bay Secondary Schools, and who is proceeding to Nipissing University or Canadore College.
